Bibiani is a historically significant Ghanaian gold mine situated in the western region of the country. Bibiani has previous gold production of near 5 Moz, is fully permitted with available mining and processing infrastructure on-site consisting of a three million tonne per annum mill and processing plant, and existing surface and underground mining infrastructure. SAG Gear Box

This film clip presents the SAG Gear Box being reassembled following its overhaul at the HIT Shop facility in Takoradi, Ghana.

A SAG Mill is a semi-autogenous mill, used to crush rocks from 6” to less than 1 ½”. At Bibiani, the SAG Mill is powered by a 3.8 MW motor. The SAG Gear Box transmits the motor power to the drive pinion that interacts with the ring gear, to turn the Mill at 7 – 12 RPM.
